Character Background - Joshua Nightsbane

During the time of the Coalition States war with the Kingdom of Tolkeen, thousands of refugees from the city and outlying towns fled for their lives. Normal humans, magical and psionic, D-Bee's of all manner, all must either flee or be killed on sight. Many of these refugees would fade into obscurity, but some small groups would change the course of events around them.

One such group was led by a young Glitter Boy pilot by the name of Joshua Nightsbane. This name was first used by his great, great grandfather during the original Cataclysm. He and his squadron of Glitter Boys held back many dark terrors from invading his homeland of Canada. Such was his skill, that his call sign was "Night's Bane" and all manner of evil began to fear the coming of "Night's Bane". During one mission, "Night's Bane" was separated from his unit while fighting near overwhelming odds. The sun went dark. Voices called out from the darkness. Navigation systems went haywire. Shapes darted in the corner of the eye. Nightsbane caught a glimpse of the leader in the corner of his eye, a Dark Prince. Nightsbane gave pursuit for many days, ignoring his aching muscles. Time had no meaning for him, only the hunt, the killing of evil.

When at last Nightsbane caught the Dark Prince, the battle was furious. Boom Gun blasted, spells sizzled, and rage grew. Nightsbane refused to say what exactly happened during that struggle. All that was ever known is that Nightsbane was found amongst the wreckage of his Glitter Boy. A Dark Prince lying dead beside it. The local who found Nightsbane took him to his own house, where his wife and children tended to his wounds. After months of recuperation, Nightsbane regained enough strength to earn his own way in the town. With his combat knowledge, Nightsbane became the area's de facto protector from the creatures of the wild. Nightsbane eventually married and had a family. On the third anniversary of when Nightsbane was found, his rescuer and best friend presented him with his fully restored Glitter Boy. The region became to be known as a safe haven due to the Nightsbane family, and the town grew over the years.

Joshua Nightsbane is the most recent in a long line of Glitter Boy pilots. Showing more aptitude than his two sisters, Joshua began his training as a Glitter Boy pilot after his father broke his leg. With his new found prestige, Joshua fancies himself to be suave, debonair, and the most eligible and sought after bachelor of the town. His resulting airs and attitude have done more to make the town's young women to giggle than swoon. It has been four months since that time, and increasing rumors of the possibility of the Coalition making war against Tolkeen have Joshua and the entire town nervous.
